Our lovely Duchess of Cambridge looks as pretty as ever in her red pillbox hat by Gina Foster and coat by Catherine Walker. Kate is wearing her pillbox in the traditional manner, on the crown of her head. As you know, she generally favors fascinators, worn at an asymmetrical angle on the side of the head. She’s gorgeous, as always.
This lovely piece is pure 1960s. The label reads: Miss Dior Created by Christian Dior. The designer, Christian Dior, lived from 1905 – 1957, so this hat was a line created after his death. The hat may have been created by Mark Bohan, who designed for the brand in the 1960s. This piece shows some sign of wear, however the original tag from The Halle Brothers Company is still attached. No date when it was purchased, but it originally sold for $16. A classic and feminine piece, don’t you think?
A very cute grandmother-of-the-groom recently came to me for a hat to go with her dress, a very pretty blush with a light metallic sheen and iridescent beading. Here’s the hat we designed to complement it. I hope the bride isn’t too jealous!
