I have many new items to choose from and the fingerless gloves made from recycled sweaters ($34) are back by popular demand. They’re a great stocking stuffer and appeal to girls and women of all ages. Here’s a sneak peek…
Fingerless Gloves feature a slit for your thumb to keep your fingers free for texting, reading, etc.
Yesterday afternoon I finally got around to working on a new hat that is inspired by a wonderful old 1940s hat I bought last fall. Style-wise, it’s a beret/newsboy/tilt hat hybrid. The round (actually oval) top is classic beret. But the back sweeps straight up like a newsboy or driver, depending on where you’re from. It’s a mix of masculine and feminine…with the feminine taking the lead. I trimmed it with a flurry of vintage feathers and a carved vintage button that mimics the pattern of the fabric. It sits at an angle, so I added a narrow elastic band to keep it in place. A cool new look for the fall collection!
My studio will be open this coming Saturday, September 15th, from 11 am – 3 pm. I have a lot of new things for you to see and will be discounting a few hats from the past – some of the “arty” pieces that have been in shows and galleries as well as some styles I’m no longer making. The red and blue beret below was hand felted and hand beaded – originally priced at $160 it’s now just $60. The newsboy cap was originally $98 and has been marked down to $58. Hope you’ll stop by to see what’s new for fall and winter…and while you’re at it, take advantage of some great bargains from prior seasons!
