In-Studio Perspectives

Hello Hat Friends! Today’s post is a redo of a cool vintage hat brought to me by a customer. She normally gets lots of compliments on the hats she wears but she went to a meeting wearing this one and no one said a word. Together we agreed that the original hat had too much going on with the netting, feather, gold trim and bow. So I pared it down to its basic 1940s shape, which is quite lovely.

Now you can see the architectural beauty of the hat. A simple grosgrain ribbon band and a folded ribbon trim gives it a bit of pizzazz without adding clutter. The pretty velvet ribbon adds a  touch of texture and the vintage button ties it all together. I guarantee compliments will abound on this smart and sporty hat from now on!
